Homegoing services for Mr. Hardy (Papa) Brockman of Tampa who passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014, will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 12:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. M. L. King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Johnnie Miller, pastor of Friendly Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Hardy was born on August 12, 1923 in Monticello, Florida to the union of the late Israel and Jennie Brockman. He was a man of few words and he loved his family. He attended the public school system of Jefferson County. He was a veteran, once employed at Superior Fertilize Co., and retired from City of Tampa, Sewer Maintenance Department. After retiring he worked security for a short period of time and then a crossing guard for Hillsborough County School System. He was preceded in death by his: wife, Willie Ruth Brockman; brothers, William Brockman, Sr. and Ivory Brockman; sister, Minnie Mae Burks; sons-in-law, Henry Davis and Willie Martin; and a very dear friend and companion, Eloise Richardson. He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with children, Adrian Jack, caregiver (Hubert), Tanya Gordon (Chris), Yolanda Martin, Pearl Gooden (Charlie), Catherine Miller (Johnnie), Janice Davis, Dereck Brockman and Robert Reddick; grandchildren, Katina Outlaw (Joe), Angelia Thompson (Tawan), Zahra Magwood (Lorenzo), Joaquana Outlaw, Arthur Young, Brian Marcus, Charleston, SC, Termaine Miller, Lebresha Miller (Robert), Ada Buchanan, Alicia Miller, Felicia Miller, Dr. Shawn Miller (Nikki), Nashville, TN, Donna Jackson, Lisa Jackson, Iesha McKenzie (Reggie), Snellville, GA, and Charlie Ware (Monica); brother, Joe White of Monticello, FL; sister, Mae Bell Bush; goddaughter, Tiffany Wallace and special friend, Rufus McGee; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Narinie Deokaran and Lifepath Hospice of Tampa Bay Staff. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 7th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel for the service on Saturday.
