Harlan Junior
Richard Charlery
April 3, 1985 – February 11, 2025
Harlan Junior Richard Charlery affectionately called "Jskillz "and" sneakerhead" was born on April 3, 1985, on the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia, Micoud parish to Ervin Christophe and Roseanna Charlery. Harlan migrated to the United States at the tender age of 14. He attended Blair High School in Silver Spring, where he met his high school sweetheart, Yaneth Santos. They were quite enamored with each other and had a whirlwind romance. As the relationship progressed, so did the birth of their only child/ daughter, Mia Charlery.
Later, they both moved to Tampa where they continued to reside until his passing. Harlan was a quiet, strong-minded person with a feisty spirit. He was a hard-working person. A devoted son, husband, father, family member, and friend. One of his greatest joys was his family, especially his daughter whom he would refer to as his little princess. She held a most special place in his heart; "And Mia, though at times you may have perceived him as stern, those who knew him best understood that it was because he had a big heart so full of love for you and always, always wished you nothing but the ultimate best". Among his cherished bonds was the one he shared with his mom, Roseanna Charlery, and his uncle, Mataki Charlery who was like a brother to him and whom he could always rely on.
Harlan was preceded in death by his grandmother, Helena Charlery Willie who played an integral part in his upbringing. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, cherished by his wife, Yaneth Santos; daughter, Mia Charlery; father, Ervin Christophe; mother, Roseanna Charlery; brother, Nayib Charlery; grandfather, Michael Lucien; goddaughter, Dylainie Charlery and the remainder of his extended family members Laurie, Leona, Prisca, Sylvanay, Stephanie, Melissa, Micah, AKim Jaylin, Micaela, and many other relatives and friends too humorous to mention who loved him dearly. As the Lord welcomed him home with these words "Well done, my good and faithful servant," his spirit now rests in eternal peace, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, and resilience. "Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted" --Matthew 5:4.
