Harold Bernard
Richardson
August 28, 1954 – August 31, 2024
Brother Harold Richardson was born, August 28, 1954, in Tampa, Florida, to David and Freddie Mae Jones. Harold attended school in Hillsborough County, Lomax Elementary, Potter 6th Grade Center, Young, Jr. High School and Middleton High School. He was gainfully employed in the following occupations: he worked on the docks as a longshoreman, a detailer at Ferman Chevrolet, and he worked for the Hillsborough County School system, where he retired in 2020 after 20 years of service.
Brother Richardson began attending St. Matthews at an early age with his mother and brothers. He participated in the children and youth programs at church. Later in his adult life, he became active in the various ministries, the #2 Ushers Ministry and later as the sexton of St. Matthews serving diligently and unselfishly in that capacity. The presence and smile of this "gentle giant" will surely be missed. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing cards and dominos with his friends, and attending gatherings with his family. He also found great pleasure in listening to music, especially gospel. He was often found studying the Bible to gain a deeper understanding of the word.
Brother Richardson was preceded in death by his father, David Jones (Eddie Lee); mother, Freddie Mae Jones; brothers, Roland Jones, Joseph Jones, Clarence Richardson, Ronnie Richardson, Sr., and Arnold Richardson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and caring wife of 31 years, Emma Marshall Richardson; daughter, Valarie Anderson (Andrew); brothers, Velton Richardson, Edwin Richardson (Alashia), Michael Jones (Sherrie), and Marvin Jones (Gwen); sisters, Charlean Turner, Carlotta Jones, Luwanda Cromartie (Joe), and Karen Rogers-Snake (Archie); mother-in-law, Mildred Marshall; brothers-in-law, Amos Marshall, Jr., and Kenneth Marshall; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Marshall and Josephine Richardson-Spivey; aunt, Patricia Jones; grandchildren, Quincina Marshall, Jerold Anderson, Jr., and Ekecia Anderson; great-grandchildren, Eric Parks, Tanarie Underwood, and Julio Class; along with a host of other family and friends.
