A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Hattie Lee Johnson Diggs of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, will be held on Saturday, May 7th, 2:00 p.m. at Tyer Temple United Methodist Church, 3305 N. 15th Street, Rev. Geraldine Christopher, pastor officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Hattie was a devoted Christian and held on to her faith.She had joined Good Hope Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Elmore County training school in Wetumpka, Alabama and was married to Addison Grayson in 1963. She later moved to Tampa, Florida where she met and remarriedEddie Diggs, Sr. Hattie graduated from Brewster Technical School where she received her A.S. degree. She then began her career at Landmark Bank before continuing on to ACTS Juvenile Assessment Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Johnson and Effie Lee Thompson; son, Eddie Diggs, Jr.; great grandparents, Spencer and Ella Johnson; brother, Thomas Johnson; aunts, Lucille Hawkins, Willie Mae Johnson Robertson and Dollie Mae Bell; uncle, Thomas McDaniel (Lula Mae); brother-in-law, Terrell Webster and son-in-law, Nathan Perkins. She leaves to cherish her memories with her children, Veverly Grayson (Marvin Howard), Carl Johnson (Kasha), Delilah Perkins, Rodney Diggs (Patsy), Antwain Diggs (Druemia) and Demetrius Baker (Carlniecya); grandchildren, Zacar Mingo, Lakesha Grayson, Zachary Grayson (Shaquilya 'Toy'e'), Zakee Grayson, Ernest Nobles, Jr., Anthony Nobles (Tasha Hodge), Gwendolyn Johnson, Octavius Grayson, Larrette Grant, Eddie III and Tony Diggs, Derrika Taylor, Renecha Diggs, Briana Johnson, Alexius, Elizabeth and Antwain Diggs, Jr., Demetrius, Jr. Demi and Daylan Baker, Druemarion and Mianna Diggs; sister, JoAnn Webster; devoted friend, Josephine Morrison; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins,in-laws, other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, May 6th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
