Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Hattie Regina Lanier who passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 will be held Saturday May 5, 2013, 10a.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, with Pastor Dr. Evan Burrows, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Hattie was born January 11, 1947 to the late George and Ossie Bell Brown. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of College Hill and a member of the church choir. Hattie was an eastern star, president of Ida Robinson and Sheryl Walker Missionary Circle, a member of the security and hospitality team and an alumni of the Middleton High School class of 65'. Hattie was preceded in death by parents, George and Ossie Bell Brown and sister Georgia Bell Payton. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with husband, James Frank Lanier, Sr.; children, Marlene Bennet (Antonio), Bernard Bennet (Inger), James Frank Lanier, Jr. (Glendese), Frank Lanier (Salena) and Lakersha Lanier; grandchildren, Toccara Huff, Miya Williams, Harold B. Jackson II, Tyrell Williams, Michael Williams, Bernard Bennett, Jalisa Longworth, Davian Lanier and Shantel Lanier; great grandchildren, Mi'yanna, De'yanna, DeKamron, and DeKennon, Jr., Moore, Marcessia Howard and Felix Vivian Williams; brother, George Brown, Jr. of Tallahassee, FL; sisters, Arthenia Brown and Pertlisa Martin of Las Angelas, California; cousin, Carol Nelson; special friends, The Nelson Family, The Jones Family, The Brown Family, The Wilds Family, The Taylor Family, The Smith Family of Tallahassee, FL, The extended Lanier Family and The First Baptist Church of College Hill Family and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, Friday May 3rd from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
