Obituary

Hattie affectionately nicknamed, "Honey", was born June 18, 1938, in Calhoun, Georgia, to the late Marcellus B. Lang and Bula Brown.

She was educated in Hillsborough County Public Schools. She had seven children: five girls and two boys. She was best known as "Hurricane Hattie", driving fast and fighting. She taught most of her children and grandchildren how to drive. Her favorite hobbies were fishing and listening to old blues music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bula Brown and Marcellus B. Lang; her husbands, Junior Nelson and Robert Holmes; her daughters, Linda Nelson, Faye Nelson, and Renee Riddle.

She leaves precious memories with her children, Cheyenne Riddle, Sharlietta McDaniel (Cedric Gilbert), Sandra Thomas, and Samuel Thomas (Felicia Thomas); grandchildren, Shawn Jackson, Jabri Reed, Vanessa Riddle, Shamika Riddle, Teisa Riddle, Natausha Sawyer (Marck Alegria), Noland McDaniel Jr., Nolanda McDaniel (Phillip Henry), Kenya Frezzell, Ezekiel Thomas, Nehemiah Thomas, Thomas Booker, Janaka Menedez, Navaskey Sanders, Antonio Thomas (Tyca Thomas), Andre Thomas, Jacquelyn Thomas, Brittney Thomas, Tiana Thomas, Travontae Thomas, Eric Morrison, Maurice Walker, Samuel Thomas III; 19 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Marcellus Lang, Sr.; sister, Georgia Mae Carnegie; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special family member, Albert Vann.
