Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Hattie Stephens of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016, will be held on Saturday, May 7th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. James Anderson, officiating. Hattie loved cooking and socializing with her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Mingo, Jr., Hattie McGett, Marie Mingo, Willie Cherry, Sr., Russell Mingo, Adell Mingo, Sr., and Rudy Mingo, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Nyjeria Standberry; parents, James Mingo, Sr. (Wanda) and Emma Lee Walton (Carlton); special friend, Zyrin McNeil; brother, Victor (Joann); sisters, Latisa (Sheldon), April (Reginald), Keaundra (Matavani), Patricia (Murray), Shareeka Dooley, Deborah and Alicia (Daryall); aunts, Bertha Mae (Carl), Ruby, Rosemary (Rev. Anderson); uncles, Andrew Deacon, Odell (Teresa), Joe (Lilly), Adell (Carol), Willie (Casanthia) and Goldie (Debra); nephews, Reginald Warren, Daryll Bowman, Reginald Bowman and Victor McGett, Jontae McGett and A'Rtavis McGett; cousins, James (Laporshe) and David (Selena), Brenda Smiley, Mae Smiley, Diane, Tameka Goodson, Shawntae Watson, Belle Owens, Paulette Owens, Tomeika Williams and Shadell Turner; and friend Tiffany McKinney; and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home Friday, May 6th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
