Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration of life and love for Mrs. Helen Redmon Davis of Tampa who the Lord called home on April 1, 2016, will be held on Saturday, April 9th, 2:00 p.m. at Pilgrims Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 4202 W. Nassau Street, Rev. Dr. Linda C. Reese, pastor with Rev. Dr. James Redmon, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Helen was born on July 31, 1932 in Tampa, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine (Redmon) and Gertrude (Henry) Suber. She attended Middleton Senior High School and graduated from Middleton Adult High School in 1966. Helen received her Associates of Arts degree from Hillsborough Community College in 1975 and attended the University of South Florida. She was a past member of Mt. Moriah P.B. Church. Helen retired from Aging Services of Hillsborough County in Plant City after 27 years of service as the center coordinator. She was the Grand Worthy Counselor of the Grand Court of Calanthe, Florida Jurisdiction and Supreme Worthy Counselor of the Supreme Court Order of Calanthe of North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Helen loved to travel with her cousin the late, Thelma Branham they traveled to London, Paris, Africa and many places in the U.S. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Renaye G. Davis; sister Theresa R. Johnson; brother, Frank Redmon; nephew, Donley A. Harris and great nephew, Ja'Kobe D. Woods. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Cynthia M. Marsh (Carl) and Shelia H. Davis; sons, Thornton Davis, Gilbert G. Davis, Paul E. Davis, Ernie Carl Davis and Kenneth E. Davis and their father, Buck T. Davis; grandchildren, Michael Matthews, Elliott Davis, R. Tyrone Davis, Thornton Davis III, Quinetta Marsh, Erica and Ariel Davis; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Henry Suber, Jr., Rev. Dr. James Redmon (Adarna), Andrew Redmon III, Lewis Redmon, Lonnie Hill, Sammy Redmon, Jessie Redmon, Phillip Redmon (Delores), Rev Matthew Redmon (Andrea), and John Redmon; sisters, Yvonne S. Williams, Ivalita S. Woods, Paulette S. Debose, Elouise Redmon, Sandra Smith (Walter), and Bobbie Bethea (Willis); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins including, Fred Watts and Delores Copeland; and other sorrowing family and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 8th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the funeral service.
