Obituary

Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Helen F. Hart of Tampa who passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015, will be held Saturday, February 14th, 11:00 a.m. at Holsey Temple CME Church, 3729 N. 15th Street, Pastor Anita Williams, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Helen was born September 22, 1931 in Lacoochee, Florida to the late Rufus Hills and Vernell Grant. Helen had amazing accomplishments in 1947 she was Miss Sweetheart and Majorette at Middleton Senior High School, in 1948 graduated from Bethune Cookman College as a business major and was an LPN. She worked throughout Hillsborough and Pasco Counties at various nursing facilities. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Organization. She was united in holy matrimony for 54 years to the late James Hart and to that union they had 9 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Hills and Vernell Grant-Petteway and also by 2 children, Diane Hart (infant) and Anthony Hart. She leaves to cherish her precious memories with children, Carolyn Hart Hill (Charles, Jr.), Patricia Scott (Judge, Jr.), James Hart, Jr. (Devara), Janice Hart, Carlton Hart, Bridget Walker (Tony) and Tony Hart; grandchildren, Lashon, Sophia, Monique, Kimberly, Natasha, Nikki, Kayla, Rhonda, Jamesa, Equard II, Talia, NyAsia, Trinetta, Taniya, Tony, Jr., James III (JoJo), Brandy, Jason, Ticopia, Jeraine, Ra'Shal (Mike-Mike), Dominique, Sharaya and Carmietta; 30 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, Dorothy Horne, Wrightsville, GA; godchildren, Kevin Frazier, Alexis Bridgeman, Sentra and Howard Sanders, Tonya Lewis and Sonyette Alford; special friends, Valreatha Williams, Mildred Richardson, Mary Cason, Snookes Black, Jessica Santana and Jackie Snow; a host of nieces and nephews of Wrightsville, Sandersville, Macon, Perry and Warner Robins, Georgia and Miami, Florida; a host of cousins; other relatives, the Canty's of Tampa, Chapman's of Lakeland, the Doctor's, Grants, Stewarts, O'Neils's of Bushnell, Lacoochee, Melbourne, Rosewood and Gainesville, Florida; Hills of Cocoa Beach, Miami, Lauderdale, Florida; Bakers of Redick, Florida, Hart's of Rochester, New York; Grants of North and South Carolina; Grants of Los Angeles, CA; James "Mudcat" Grant of Los Angeles, CA. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, February 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
