Mrs. Henrietta Walton was born on September 18, 1949, in Baker County, Georgia, to John L. Gadson and Avella Miller Gadson. The family later moved to Florida in the early sixties to build a long life here. She attended Blake High School and was a skilled seamstress and retired from The Tampa Tribune. In 1994, she married Julius D. Walton. They celebrated 34 years of marriage on February 6, 2024. She was a dedicated member of various churches, including Shiloh M.B. Church of Largo, Florida, Mt. Olive M.B. Church of Tampa, and New Mt. Zion M.B. Church. Henrietta was known for her love of browsing yard sales and hosting her own, helping others, in the community, baking her famous lemon cake, and assisting with the Gadson sisters' annual Thanksgiving luncheon for seniors. She also hosted numerous family reunions for her family to bond and fellowship.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, John L. and Avella Gadson, brothers, Ivory Gadson, Sr., and Bobby Gadson, as well as granddaughters Melanie Troupe and Asia Troupe.
Henrietta is survived by her loving devoted husband, Julious Walton, along with her children: Dwayne Washington, Twila Troupe-Wright (Horatio), Cedrick Troupe, Lucrecia Dixon, Nicole Troupe, Deandre Walton, Julia Gadis, and Reycyne (Ro) Smith. She is also remembered by her five sisters: Johnnie Mae Harris (Rev. Carl), Yvonne Douglas (Deacon Oscar), Betty Broadway, Minnie White (Benjamin), and Alice Faye Williams, as well as her two brothers, William Gadson and Duany Dallas; aunts, Johnnie Mae Miller and Hattie Miller. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Kelton, Darius, Javoris, Stephen, Aaron, Tyra, LaBronx, Sinead, BreOnna, Sydnie, BreNiala, Elexxia, BreTysia, Labryson, Hannah, LaByron, Ireland, Monique, Brandon, Petra, Natalia, Nikayla, Danasheia, Jamilla, Labron, god-daughters, Shayla and Kayla Ladouceur, and as well as a host of great-grandchildren and other cherished relatives.
