Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Henry Sanders, Jr. "Hunk of suga" of Tampa who passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013, will be held on Saturday, July 27th, 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Blvd., Dr. Samuel Maxwell, senior teaching pastor, officiating with Min. Dwayne E. Sanders, Sr., Eulogist. Interment will be in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2323 Brandon Blvd. Henry Sanders, Jr. was born September 2, 1925 in Alford, Florida to the late Betty Mae Evans Sanders and Henry Sanders, Sr. He was a member of Progress Village Baptist Church since the early 60's under the pastorate of Rev. B.T. Williams and later, Rev. Roosevelt Robinson and currently Dr. Samuel Maxwell. Henry enjoyed watching his favorite football team the Tampa Bay Bucs, fishing and spending time with family especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 son. He leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving and devoted wife, Delores Sanders; children, devoted daughter, Shenita Crum and fiancAC., Melvin John, Michael Sanders (Linda), Homer Sanders (Teresa), James Henry Haywood (Vonnie), Robert Earl Sanders, Barbara Jean Hayward, Cherine West (George), Eugene Sanders (Gloria), Tony Sanders (Marvette), Curt Evans, Eric Jackson, Patricia Bostic and Beverly Bostic; devoted grandchildren, Kwame and Trinity Crum; a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other sorrowing relatives and friends; godchildren, Kim Hyman (Greg), Corey Darby, Jackie Mix and Tasha Johnson; Henry's Heroes, Zonnie and Pie Pie; special friends, Frank Moultrie (Vivian) and Ted McNair (Sandra); a very special thanks to Hospice, Indigo Team and Continuous Care. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home Friday, July 26th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive guest from 7 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
