A homegoing memorial celebration for Mr. Herbert Ray Brantley of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 will be held Saturday, October 29th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Rev. Frank Bafford, officiating. Herbert was born in Panama City, Florida on September 17, 1954 to the late Bennie Brantley and Darnella Whitfield Cooper (Calvin Cooper, Sr.). Herbert graduated from Bay High School in Panama City, Florida and joined the Air Force, where he was honorably discharged. At an early age Herbert attended Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church, Panama City, Florida. Herb had a passion for muscle car racing, fishing and hunting also famous for his hot pepper sauce, but most of all his strong love for his family and friends. Herbert was a member of New Hope M.B. Church. He leaves to cherish precious memories with his wife, Anna Jones Brantley; children, Tiffany Brantley, Misty Brantley and Bennie Brantley; sisters, Joyce Green (Elton), Ruth Brown, Mammie King (Fraze), Cardellya Moore and Peggy Brown; brother, Calvin Cooper, Jr.; stepchildren, Olympia Black, Angela Black and Michael Black; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and very special friends. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
