Herbert Lamar
Hendry
February 12, 1959 – November 13, 2023
Herbert, also known as "Herbie", was born February 12, 1959, to Dorothy Mae Usher. Due to his mothers illness, Herbert was adopted as an infant, and he always felt utmost gratitude to his birth mother for placing him with his adoptive parent, George Hendry, Jr., whom he loved unconditionally. He attended the local public schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Brandon High School, class of 1978. After graduating, Herbert joined the Army and served his country. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he settled in Virginia. After many years of living in Virginia, he moved back to Seffner, FL. Herbert accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Israel Bethel P.B. Church. He later joined the Loving Hill P.B. Church, under the leadership of Elder Leland L. Johnson. Herbert was an avid fisherman and was often called "Fisherman." He had a fishing pole for every fish he wanted to catch.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Usher; father, George Hendry, Dea Albert Moore (Pops), Mot. Leona Moore (Momma Lee), Shellon Hudson-Davis, Mot. Leona Elaine Hudson (Big Sis), and Vincent Hudson. Herbert leaves behind a host of blended family members: step-daughter; Brittany Wilson and her children; brothers, Delmus Hendry (Jean), of Orlando, FL, and Leroy Preston; sisters, Theresa Preston, Cynthia Preston-McCluster (Lee), and Lora Haynes; devoted caregivers, Urania Hudson and Sonya Fleming (Wilbert); and host of nieces, nephews many cousins and, many wonderful friends.
