Homegoing Services for Mr. Herbert Alexander Rahmings, Sr. of Tampa who passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, 2:00 p.m. at First Born Church-Living God, 3727 N. 29th Street, Elder Larry Cook, pastor officiating. The interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Herbert was born November 6, 1927 in Tampa, Florida to the late Thomas Rahming and Albertha Berk. He was a high school graduate and as a young adult he lived in New York City. He served in the United States Army National Guard. He relocated to Tampa, Florida, where he attended trade school and became an accomplished electrician. He was the owner of Herb Rahmings Electric Company, where he served customers in Hillsborough County, Florida. Mr. Rahmings worked for the City of Tampa and the Tampa Housing Authority as an electrical inspector. Herbert was recognized for his charming personality and being a dedicated, husband, father and grandfather. For rest and relaxation he enjoyed spending time at home and engaged in his favorite pass time, fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Cecelia Gillette and Bertha Rahmings; brothers, Thomas and James Rahmings; daughters, Sandra and Brenda Rahmings. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Bessie M. Rahmings; children, Michael D. Herrington, Herbert A. Rahmings, Jr., Alexander L. Rahmings, Clifford L. Rahmings and Corey A. Rolfe; 29 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. The visitation will be held at First Born Church of the Living God from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church of the service on Saturday.
