Jacob W. Rhodes, Pastor at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. As a youth, he sang in the Angel Choir, served on the Junior Usher Board, and attended both, Sunday school and BYPU. He was educated at the "Village Schools" in Tampa, Florida: Hoods Temple Day Care, Harlem Elementary, Booker T. When he returned to Tampa, he met and married Joyce Ann Butler and her children, Keith and Talonda Butler. To their union a son, Chike Saeed Tim, completed their blended family. The family, founding members of Keeney United Methodist Church, worshiped together and participated in many community outreach activities, under the leadership of Rev Louis Jones, Pastor. Deacon Tim and his wife divorced. Still on his Spiritual Journey, Deacon Tim became a Lay Minister at Christ United Methodist Church, with Rev. Florence Howell, Pastor. He later moved his membership to Pilgrims Rest Missionary Baptist, where he began his study to become an ordained Deacon under the late Rev. Dr. Linda C. Reese, pastor. There he served as the Church's Bus Driver, he taught Adult Sunday School Class, participated in Bible study at church (and another outside of church), he sang in the Male Chorus and the Accapello Choir, and was a member of the Tuesday and Thursday mornings Prayed Up Prayer Line, serving as prayer leader on Tuesdays (his final appearance was Tuesday, May 25, 2021). His studies were not in vain, Glory to God, On January 18, 2015, he was ordained Deacon by Apostle James H. Howell.
