A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Hodges Taylor of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2020 will be held on Saturday, April 25th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Ronnie Murray, Pastor of Greater New Friendship, officiating. Hodges was born on February 22, 1926 in Monticello, Florida to the late Charlie Taylor and Rosa Lee Hall. Hodges was very well-known and lovable person. He attended Jefferson County Schools in Monticello, Florida. He met and married Lula Mae Keaton and three children were born: Robert, Judie and Hodges, Jr., Taylor. Later, he met and married Rose Moore, and 2 children were born and named Christopher and Anthony Taylor and lastly married, Beverly Taylor. He accepted Christ at an early age and leaves to cherish his memories with a loving, kind, and beautiful companion, Clara Williams, who took care of him until his demise. Hodges departed this life on April 8, 2020 at 9:25 p.m. He was preceded in death by his sons, Hodges, Jr and Vince Taylor and sisters, Margaret Johnson of Sanford, Florida and Ethel Turner of Perry, FL. He leaves to cherish his memories with his two daughters, Judie Taylor of Ocala, FL, and Toni Prestley of Tallahassee, FL; ten sons, Robert Taylor (Jeanette) of Ocklawahee, FL., Rev. Terry Presley (Belle) of Monticello, Florida, Craig Tayer of Miami, FL, Willie Mitchell (Carla), Christopher Taylor of Tallahassee, FL, Anthony Taylor (Gwen) of Dothan, Alabama, Wayne Johnson of Perry, FL and Willie Williams of Perry, FL; sisters, Rutha Mae Harris of Bunnell, FL, Joyce McKnight of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Jade Ferrales (Ernie) of Apple Valley, California; brothers, Willie James Taylor, Morris Taylor (Joyce) of Rochester, NY and Johnny Taylor (Albertha) of Sanford, FL; and a host of grandchildren, great grand cousins, nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends; favorite granddaughter, Jackie McCoy; favorite nephew, Alphonso Turner and two favorite nieces, Jeanette Young and Rosa Burns. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 24th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family will receive friends during the visitation. The immediate family will attend the service on Saturday at the chapel.
