Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Humphrey Linton Haughton of Tampa who passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014, will be held on Thursday, July 3rd, 12:00 p.m. at Faith Outreach Center, 7607 Sheldon Road, Tampa, Florida, with the pastor officiating. The interment will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Thonotosassa, Florida. Linton was born in St. Mary, Jamaica to the late Erik Haughton and Claris May Davidson. He emigrated to Birmingham, England in 1963, and then Tampa in 1998 until his death. Linton's biggest passion in life was music and he listened to a lot of it and he played many different instruments. He spent a lot of time in recording studios or at home writing, recording, making and playing music. He made several records but only released two, 'Children of Jah' and 'Hustling Man'. Linton was a loving father and great friend to those who knew him. He was very popular and had an infectious personality and sense of humor; he was loved by many and he will be greatly missed by all. Linton was preceded in death by his sister, Sonia McIntosh, brother Newton Blake and his mother, Claris May Davidson. He is survived by his sisters, Sydonie Walker, Marvine Thompson, Pauline McIntosh and brother, Lancelot McIntosh and his 2nd spouse, Lorena Haughton; children, Pamella , Paulette, Adrian, Dennis , Carlton, Donna, Sarah, Gemma and David; grandchildren, Chanelle, Latesha, Michael, Jaydah and many others and 2 great grandchildren, Mackyle and Naima; 13 nieces and 10 nephews. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Thursday for the service.
