Obituary

Mass of the Resurrection for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Hyacinth "Nina Rose" Richardson, of Tampa who passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013, will be held on Saturday , January 12th, 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1203 N. Nebraska Ave, Father Hugh Chikawe, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Hyacinth "Nina Rose" Richardson was born in the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica the 2nd child of Arthur and Suscilla Small. Nina was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother. She attended St. Joseph's Teacher's College (Kingston, Jamaica) and later pursued further studies at Fordham University, where she earned a BA degree in Education. Over the years, in addition to her teaching career, Nina has served as a choir director, a member of the Jamaica Philharmonic Orchestra (playing the violin), choir member at St. Theresa's Catholic Church (Kingston, Jamaica), organist, lector, catechist and Minister of the Eucharist, to name a few. She is survived by her adopted daughter, Doreen East; nieces, Janice Tai, Sharon Small-Kebede, Gerri Small Drummond and Karen Small; nephews, Rayeal Haltaufderhyde, Trevor Small, Christopher Small; sister-in-law, Cleoni Small; cousins, Carmen Campbell, Carol Mullen and Franklin Barrett; and a host of grandnieces and nephews. Nina also leaves behind the loving staff and owners of Bamboo Villas, Assisted Living Facility where she resided for the past 2 and half years. Our family appreciates all the kind words, thoughts and prayers expressed during this time. We thank you for celebrating the life of Nina Rose Richardson with us! Eternal rest grant unto her. The viewing will be held 1 hour before the service on Saturday, January 12th at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.
