Ian Jahmal
Akins
March 8, 1985 – December 9, 2021
Ian, nicknamed "Big", "Skittles", and "Sam", was born August 3, 1985 in Clearwater, Florida to Leona Hall and Gary (Charlie) Akins. He loved spending time with his son King and he also loved to cook seafood and soul food. Ian had a smile that lit up the room. He may have looked intimidating, but he was a cuddly bear with a BIG heart. Once you became his friend, you remained a friend to the end. Ian was preceded in death by Henrietta West (maternal grandmother), Joseph Hall (maternal grandfather), Dorothy Akins (paternal grandmother) and Jim Akins (paternal grandfather); aunts, Henrietta Myrick, Pansy Chestine, Minnie Howard; uncles, Joseph Williams, Fred Williams, Jim Akins, Edward Akins. He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, King Ian Jamal Akins and Bryson Beecham; his parents; brothers, Emmanuel McCray, Joell McCray (Ashley), E'Saivion Wade, Jamarion Castleberry, and Nathaniel Pitts; sisters, Latisha Akins, Barbara Smith (Frank), Catrecia Walker (Earl), Ashley Pitts (Frank), Noell McCray, Asha Castleberry, Odette Nuccio Gales; aunt, Cecil Barnhart; uncles, Jerome Akins, Donny Akins; special friends Wyshema Pointte, Cori Fant, Rosson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that loved him. He will be truly missed.
