A Memorial celebration for Mrs. Ida Mae Allen-Hudson of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017 will be held Friday, January 5th, 10:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Pastor Maniram Sukhdeo, officiating. Mrs. Ida Mae Allen-Hudson completed her transition from life on earth to eternal life. Mrs. Hudson was born September 23, 1934, in Augusta, Georgia to the late Leroy Daniels and Annie Bessie Daniels. She moved to Tampa at an early age and attended the public schools in Hillsborough County. Ida enjoyed gardening in her yard and was also a volunteer in the Hillsborough County Foster Grandparent program. She would assist teachers at the elementary school level. Mrs. Hudson was a member of Rivers of Life Church and continued her membership in spirit during her illness. She worked as a store clerk for more than 20 years at the Jack Cookies Company in Tampa until the company closed. Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Allen, Sr. and brother, Leroy Daniels, Jr. She is survived by her only child, Robert Allen (Monika Allen); grandchildren, Robert Allen III and Sean Allen (Dr. Jerusha Allen) and Tanja Spence (Ferris Spence); a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Friday for the memorial service.
