Idell was born on August 16, 1928 in Cairo, Georgia to Horace and Fannie Spearman. She had twelve siblings and was to Willie C. Starling of 65 years. Idell was a member of New Bryant Baptist Church in Lakeland, Georgia. Idell and her husband, Willie moved to Tampa, Florida in 1955. During her time of illness Willie stood faithfully by her side, he was always there. Idell worked as Home Health Aide for over 40 years providing special care to all her patients. Idell was known for her firm words of encouragement, "Don't let things worry you, life is too short for foolishness". Idell was the last of her siblings to go home to be with the Lord. She loved working with her flowers and collecting clocks. Her words of wisdom were "give me my flowers, while I live" will forever be an example for us all to follow. "Love me while you have me, one day I'll be gone home" Idell has now passed the torch and we must carry on---as she always saya""The Lord will make away". Idell did not have any children but she raised several nieces as her own, Grace Williams who preceded her in death in 2009 and Evelyn Carter of Lakeland, GA, who was always there when she needed her and stood by her side to the end. Idell is survived by her husband of 65 years, Willie Starling; 1 step-son, Adrian Smith; 1 brother-in-law, D. James Starling; 2 sisters-in-law, Rubye Daniels and Retha Bryant; 1 special niece, Evelyn Carter; 1 special nephew, Ricky McKinny; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
