A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Ira Leroy Porter of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 will be held Saturday, December 12th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Elder Herbert Peeples, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ira Leroy Porter was born October 12, 1978 in Tampa, Florida to Leroy Kirkland and Cheredean Baker. Ira enjoyed dancing, cooking, traveling over the world. He loved dancing to the music even though he was hearing impaired. Ira was very free-spirited person with a heart of gold. He always had a smile on his face everywhere you see him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Kirkland; grandparents, Major and Shirley Porter; great-grandparents, Herbert and Ruth Lee Peeples; stepfather, Alonzo Baker and cousin, Mario Bouyer.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving mother, Cheredean Baker; brothers, Musah Porter (Dorethea), Larry Shaw and Angelo Baker; sisters, Charlesetta Holbrooks (Angelo), Cheredean and Monquie Shaw, Monique and Lisa Kirkland, Khalilah and LaShawn; sister-in-law, Bennitta Gowins; aunts, Elizabeth Porter, Ann Ellis (Ron), Lorraine Bouyer Tillman (Bernard) and Juanita Brown; uncles, Ernest (Shelia) and Joseph (Monica) Porter, Alvin and John Bouyer; Alexander Jones, Otto, Harry, Dr. C. T. and Aaron Kirkland; great-uncles, Herbert (Natalie) and Robert Peeples; nieces, Laniah Shaw, Cheyanne, Sarai and Endia Holbrooks, Denilah Alexander, Jermiah Colbert, Paris Newton, Jewelry Shaw, Jayna Kirkland, Akeena, Niesha, Khaldian, Khaleah, Makia and Jah'Nah Porter; cousins, Andre, Shirley, Bernard, Brandon, Alvin, Daisha, Angie, Ron, Rhonda, Anaya, Tequila, Sophia, Brenda, Ernesa, Shirlisa, Eboni, Michael, Rob'Teria, Cierra and Dominque; a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and special friends; special friends in the deaf community, Tameka, Michael, Shady, Russel, Kisha and Dee Dee.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, December 11th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.
