Obituary

Isaac was born on January 27, 1969, in Detroit, Michigan. He departed this life and began his eternal glory on September 2, 2022. Isaac, affectionately known as Junior, was the oldest of three children. He was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend, but most of all he was a child of God. In his youth, he attended Sweet Kingdom Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan under the pastoral leadership of his grandfather, the late Rev. James E. Robinson Sr. At Sweet Kingdom, he served as an usher and sang in The Robinson Special.

Prior to his transition, he was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church Riverview, Florida, where he served as a Trustee, Class Leader, member of the Men's Choir, and local President of The Sons of Allen. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nettie Jean Robinson Mitchell; uncles, Leslie Robinson Sr., Louis Mitchell, and Thomas Mitchell; and aunt, Mary Williams. A product of the Oakland County School System in Michigan, he was a graduate of Southfield High School. He furthered his education with attendance at Bethune Cookman University. He relocated to Tampa, Florida in 1995. Employed by 800Travel Systems Inc., he served in many capacities, most notably as facilities manager. Subsequently, he obtained a professional license as a Florida Real Estate salesperson employed by WCI Communities, and additionally owned and operated Isaac Mitchell III Insurance, specializing in health consulting.

In 2006 the course of his life was altered by an aneurysm and subsequent stroke. The medical community determined limitations for his life. Undeterred and fully persuaded he was motivated to demonstrate the characteristics of a man who was more than a conqueror. He met and exceeded any limitation and was able to fully comprehend that to live is Christ and to die is gain. Isaac loved his family. He was especially passionate as a father and adored his daughters. Often in conversations, he complimented their achievements, uplifting each of their goals, and rooting and cheering for them to succeed. He was inspired to be the best father for his children. He also loved Florida especially the Gulf Coast Beaches - Coquina and Anna Maria Island. He enjoyed listening to jazz, watching sports, especially football, and spending social time with friends.

Isaac leaves to cherish beautiful memories with his devoted wife, Andrea; father, Rev. Isaac Mitchell, Jr. (Connie); children, Shanay Whitfield, Ashley Arana (Jonathan), Briauna Mitchell-Lowe, Ivy Victoria Mitchell, and Isley Simone Mitchell; siblings, Angela Mitchell Hill (Tyronn Hamilton), and Khrystal Rouse (Richard). His memory is treasured by a loving mother-in-law, Eleanor Dixon; brothers-in-law, Alfred Dixon, II (Stacey), and Adrien Dixon (Kimberly); loving nieces, Rhyln Rouse, Aani Dixon, and Alana Dixon; nephews, Emijah Hill, Richard Rouse, Jr., Alfred Dixon III, Emmanuel Dixon, and Isaiah Dixon; a host of loving uncles, James E. Robinson, Jr. (Peggy), Yehaskiel Israel "Greg" (Roxanne); aunts, Rachelle Chesternut (Dwayne), Tonya Martin, Rosemary Johnson, Yolandus Johnson, and Cynthia Johnson; a tremendous host of caring cousins, family members, and friends remain to celebrate his life.

His heartfelt conviction to all of us is this: "I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith". 2 Timothy 4:7.
