Obituary

Pastor Isaac Whitehurst was born on July 12, 1935. He was the seventh of eleven children born to Reverend Grady Whitehurst and Mother Molanie Wilson-Whitehurst. Pastor Whitehurst attended public school in Coffee County, Alabama. He was employed for 35 years with the Shell Oil Company as a Truck Driver, affectionately known as "007." He was the first black Driver/Salesman for Shell Oil in the Southeast area. His favorite activity was bowling.

Pastor Whitehurst accepted the Lord as his personal savior when he was a boy under the leadership of his father Prince Grady Whitehurst, Triumph Church Kingdom of God in Christ. In 1957, at the tender age of 20, Elder Whitehurst relocated from Alabama to Florida and connected with the Triumph Church in Tampa. For 26 years, he committed himself to the work of ministry and served as the Superintendent of the School of Wisdom.

In 1987, Elder Whitehurst received his Ministers license and was officially ordained as an Elder in June of 1988, in the Tampa Triumph Church. Bishop Hosea Lewis appointed Elder Whitehurst to the St Petersburg church during the Annual Conference of Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ. After faithfully serving families in the communities of St. Petersburg for six years, Elder Whitehurst heard the voice of the Lord to transition the Church from being Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God In Christ to Triumph Miracle and Deliverance Center. Out of the latter, the Triumph Miracle Church of God in Christ was birthed. Elder Whitehurst was officially appointed to continue serving this body of believers by the late Bishop Matthew Williams -General Board Member of the Church of God in Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Grady Whitehurst and Molanie Wilson-Whitehurst; siblings, James, Lanie Mae, Evelyn, Jacob, Hosea, and Benjamin.
