A Homegoing Memorial Service for Isiah "Zeke" Robinson, Jr. who passed away on September 9, 2021, will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Institutional Church, 1006 W. Cypress Street. Isiah "Zeke" Robinson, Jr. was born in Mobile, Alabama on December 12, 1944. He was the eldest of four children, born to the late Isiah Ike Robinson Sr. and Marie Underwood Robinson. He was preceded in death by his brother Alfred Robinson. He leaves to celebrate his life, his sister Mary Lee Robinson, of Mobile, AL; his brother, Charles Ray Robinson of Fountain, Colorado; his son Ryan Robinson; his daughter Naomi Robinson; his grandson Caden Robinson, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and devoted relatives, including Willie Mae Lindsey of (Mobile, AL) and special friends, including Yolanda (Charles) Henson, Judge Perry Little, John and Phyllis Henry, Bill Harris, Yvonne, and Thomas Aikens.
Zeke was a dedicated paperboy from 7th grade through high school and proud graduate of Central HS, class of 63. He went on to receive his B.S. in Biology from Alabama State University and earned his Masters degree from North Carolina A&T University. After graduation, Zeke began his career teaching chemistry and biology in the Public School System, in Washington, Georgia, before relocating to Tampa Florida, where he taught at Robinson HS and later, Meacham Alternative School. After teaching for a few years Zeke decided to change course and master the art of sales. In 1976, he established Zekes Insurance Agency, where he continued to support his clients until his passing.
As a resident of Tampa, FL for the last 52 years, Zeke supported organizations that focused on the betterment of the community in his spare time, and sat on the Board of Directors, as Treasurer, for the Bay Area Corporations for Economic Development in Communities Inc. In his service, he was a long-time member of Beulah Baptist Institutional Church, where he served on the Trustee Board for several years and could often be found working on construction projects and repairs throughout the church as well as, at the homes of several church members and friends. When taking a break from insurance sales and handyman repairs, Zeke enjoyed attending his class reunion, Mardi Gras and visiting with friends and family. To all who knew him, Zeke was a loyal friend with a charismatic personality. Deeply loved and respected, his smile and presence will be greatly missed.
