Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Jacquelyn J. Collins, who passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2010, will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, Elder Allen Johnson, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Jacquelyn Collins was born in Tampa, Florida, on August 3, 1940. She attended New Bethel Progressive M.B. Church, Tampa, and enjoyed reading and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Gardner and Essie Mae White. She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Joyce Polite, Anthony Collins, Bonnie Jackson, Lisa Paulette, Charlotte Wilson (Kevin), Nathaniel Collins, Terri Hills and Yolanda Collins; 19 grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, sisters, Viveene Hale (Leonard), Verna Jay McKee (Adam) and Chyral Page; aunt, Verdell Joseph and uncle, Rudy Gibson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other sorrowing relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel at 9:45 a.m. for the service on Thursday.
