Obituary

Jahlil Richard Lewis 28, of Tampa, Florida entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Charlotte Lewis welcomed baby Jahlil into this world on Wednesday, February 5, 1992. He was born at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey. At a young age the family moved to Tampa, Florida and Jahlil was educated in the Hillsborough County School System. As a teenager, he enjoyed hanging with his friends and really loved skateboarding. After high school, Jahlil wanted to work with his hands and found a career as an electrician. When he was not working, he could be found enjoying life with family and friends. He was a loving soul with a heart of gold, and he put family over everything. He was especially close to his mom, Charlotte and was a true "momma's boy". He recognized the sacrifices she made for him and treated her like a queen. Their bond was unbreakable, and he took pride in being the baby boy. Jahlil also shared a special bond with his daughter Kelsey. He took great pride in being a father to his amazing blessing from the Lord. Jahlil's first best friend was his only birth brother Barry "Bj" Dixon, their bond was unbreakable and unmatched to say the least; They could never do wrong in each other's eyes and were the true definition of brotherhood. He is finally reunited in heaven with his predeceased grandfather Richard Lewis and his friend Zaro who was like a brother. The love and the memories will live on forever in the hearts of his daughter, Kelsey Sophia Lewis; mother, Charlotte Lewis; brother, Barry 'BJ' Dixon and grandmother, Johnnie Mae Lewis; aunts and uncles, Pamela Lewis, Cheryl "Wakia" Cotton (Freeman) and Cathy M. Shivers (Rahshan) and Tyrone Lewis; first cousins, Hashec "Sheik" Lewis (who was like a big brother to Jahlil), Ieasha Peters (who was like a big sister), Jadon Russell, Chamir Shivers, Charone Shivers (Renee), Chadir 'Shaka' Shivers (Danielle) Shardae Leverette, and Chontey "Tae-Tae" Thomas (Markel); special memories will also linger in the hearts of his godparents, Frank "Max" Franklin and Pamela Lewis; special friend, Shardae Henry; best friend, Giavontague "G" Dubose; Kelsey's mother, Chelsea LaRonde; a host of relatives and friends. Jahlil's presence will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
