James Black was born on October 6, 1961, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late James Black and Willie Mae Starling. His life was one marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for his family and those around him.
James dedicated his professional career to the Hillsborough County School System, where he served as a Truant Officer. In this role, he worked diligently with students and families, helping young people understand the importance of education, accountability, and staying on the right path. His work allowed him to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many throughout the community.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, James will be remembered most for the love and devotion he shared with his family. He was a loving husband, father, relative, and friend whose presence brought strength and comfort to those fortunate enough to know him. The relationships he built and the memories he created will remain a treasured part of his legacy.
James leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Shantrell Black; his beloved children; and a host of other loving family members, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives were touched by his presence.
