James was born on August 13, 1972, in Tampa to James, Sr. and Memory Johnson. He loved spending time with his son. His hobbies were fishing and playing cards. He was employed as a furniture mover.

James was preceded in death by his daughter, ReKedra Conley; father, James Conley, Sr.; sister, Leandra Conley.

He leaves to mourn his passing: son, James Edward Conley, III; mother, Memory Johnson; grandmother, Starlee Conley; sisters, Syron Conley and Natasha Conley; aunts, Annie Taylor, Earlyn Lancaster, and Lizzie Little; uncles, Jerry Taylor, Willie Conley, and Sammie Conley; godmother, Betty Garwood; godbrothers, Byron Henry and Allen Henry; special friends, Nichol, Gean "Boo", Earl, and George; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
