Homegoing Celebration for Mr. James Leonard Dennard Jr. of Tampa, FL who passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016, will be held Saturday, February 13th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Minister Steven Allen, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. James graduated from Tampa Bay Vocational Technical High School in 1989. He was also a graduate of Hillsborough Community College, where he served as president of SGA. James attended the University of South Florida. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran who served in Operation Desert Storm. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Johnny Burns, Jessie Mae Dennard, Joseph and Doris Aydelotte, Sr.; uncle, James Aydelotte and aunt, Annie Pearl Dennard. He leaves to cherish his memories: parents, James and Deborah Dennard, Sr.; brothers, Jason Dennard (Theresa), Jonathan and Donovan Dennard; sisters, Jessica, Jameca and Deborah Dennard, Joy Allen (Steven, Sr.), Jocelyn Gosa and Dione Rolfe (Corey, Sr.); great aunts, Claretha Christopher and Mary Adams; uncles, Johnny Dennard, Joseph, Jr., Aaron and John Aydelotte; nieces, Alexis Brown, Kailah Gosa and Kalina Dennard; nephews, Gerald Bletcher, Jesse Powell, Eric Gosa, Jr., Ricky Williams, Steven Allen, Jr., Jordan Allen and Corey Rolfe, Jr.; great nephew, Kayden Bletcher; a host of cousins; family friend, Christine Peller and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, February 12th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
