Mr. James L. Dennard, Sr. was born on October 22nd, 1951, to the late Johnny Burns and Jessie Mae Dennard. James graduated from Middleton High School, class of 1969. He had been installing and repairing garage doors for over 40 years in the Tampa Bay area. He was the CEO at Economy Garage Doors, which he had owned for the past 30+ years, where his sons will continue with his legacy. He served as a member of 32nd Avenue Church of Christ. He was married to Deborah Dennard for 53 years and was most proud of raising their ten children together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Burns and Jessie Mae Dennard; son, James Dennard, Jr.; sisters, Eva Mae Williams, Julia Mae Holmes, and Annie Pearl Dennard; brother, Otis Charles Dennard.

He leaves to cherish memories: his spouse, Deborah Dennard; children, Jessica Dennard, Jameca Dennard, Joy Allen (Steven), Jason Dennard (Theresa), Deborah Dennard-Gilmore (Brian), Jocelyn Dennard, Jonathan Dennard, Dione Dennard, and Donovan Dennard (Shala); grandchildren, Gerald Bletcher, Alexis Brown, Jesse Powell, Ricky Williams, Steven Allen, Jr. (Nakina), Jordan Allen, Kailah Gosa, Eric Gosa, Jr., Corey Rolfe, Jr., and Kalina Dennard; great-grandchild, Kayden Bletcher; brother, Johnny Dennard; nieces, Eddie Mae Rogers, Urley Williams, Claretha Bowers; nephews, Robert Jordan and Beryl Dennard; goddaughter, Christina Peller; and a host of other family and friends.
