Homegoing Celebration for Mr. James Harris Deramus, Sr. of Tampa, FL who passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 will be held Saturday, August 22nd, 2:00 p.m. at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 2511 E. Columbus Drive, Pastor Larry Roundtree II, officiating. The internment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. James was born on July 18, 1936 in Verbana, AL to Lonnie Deramus & Rosie Lee Motley Deramus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Deramus and Rosie Motley; his brothers, Paul Deramus, Willie Fred Deramus, Lonnie Deramus, Jr. and Charles Taylor. He leaves to cherish his memories with his son, James Deramus, Jr. of Tampa, FL; daughter, Cassandra Deramus, Tampa, FL; 3 grandchildren, Chiquita Deramus, Jemease Deramus and Jeffery Walker, all of Tampa, FL; 4 great grandchildren, all of Tampa, FL, Jalen Moore, Jahmari Smith, Zyheim Walker and Zyeire Walker all of Tampa, FL; sisters, Nettie DeJarnette of Worchester, MA, Carolyn Miller of Worchester, MA, Ruth Vandiver of Montgomery, AL, Estelle (Jerry) Watkins of Verbena, AL and Sadie (Marcellus) Tyus of Verbena, AL; brothers, William (Gwendolyn) Taylor of Verbena, AL and Robert Taylor of Worchester, MA; and a host of other relatives and friends, The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral home on Friday, August 21st from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
