Obituary

Mr. James Henry was born on February 12, 1940, son of James Phillip and Lillian Henry, both deceased. Native of the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis; where he lived most of his life in a little area called Newton. Most of his childhood was spent in Newton, eventually he moved on to live in McKnight where he had three children with Judith whose names are Sylvester, Yotha, and James. Henry later married and settled down in 1968; with his wife Rosita Henry and seven children Leon, Gavin, Sandra, Diane, Shelly, Gerson and Jalta, who in time had seven grandchildren Craig, Shanice, Kadisha, Akeem, Kahla, Kaleema, and Kneil. James loved his soccer. He often attended the games at Warner Park. His favorite team was called Santos, a team he thought would always win the League cup; but hey, there is nothing wrong with dreaming. I thought that it was funny he grew up in Newton but never supported that team. I guess your heart likes what your heart likes; and he was a Santos fan. I've been to the games with him but never once called out the other Teams name; but I was not scared to I just never did. James worked for TDC, one of the biggest companies in St. Kitts for 25 years, there I had to say he was very well known and had numerous friends. While in St. Kitts, he worked at the airline department for Liat many of those years and did a lot of traveling, but the funny thing was James didn't like airplanes after a while, and hated flying. I remember him saying one time "how the hell do these big birds get off the ground". That was very strange that he said that. In 1989 James and his family migrated to St. Thomas; a second home to James and settled down once again. While in St. Thomas he worked for a company called International Liquors, and started a new beginning with his family. It was not long after he moved to Tampa where his life completely slowed down. This will be his final resting place. Still here to carry on his name is Rosita A. Henry, his wife, nine children, and seven grandchildren. May his soul rest in peace. We love you James A. Henry. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 25th, from 6-8 p.m. The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 9:45 a.m. for the service on Saturday.
