A homegoing celebration for Mr. James A. Jones 'JJ' of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 will be held Saturday, October 1st, 2:00 p.m. at New Bethel Progressive Baptist Church, 3011 E. North Bay Street, Rev. Reginal T. Webb, pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. James Arthur Jones was born September 27, 1961 to Jesse Jones, Jr. and Barbara Brooks Jones in Tampa, Florida. He attended the local schools of Hillsborough County. He enjoyed fishing, riding his bike, watching sports and being with his family and friends, overall protector. He was a member of New Bethel Progressive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by relatives, Bessie Stinson, Oliver Brooks, Tea Ollie Jones, Jessie Jones, Sr., Will Jones, Jimmy Jones, Willie G. Joiner, Elijah (Jake) Brooks, Mary Edna Brooks Joiner and Doris Lee Jones Mairel. He leaves to cherish is precious memories with his parents, Jesse Jones, Jr. and Barbara Brooks Jones; brothers, Jessie Jones III, Ricky D. Jones, Sr. (Angela); sisters, Beverly A. Guiste (Simon) and Juanita Jones Archer; aunt, Sallie M. Brooks; uncle, Willie F. Brooks, Sr.; niece, Nadine Guiste; nephews, T' Oliver Lewis, Elijah Lee, Tillis, Ricky D. Jones, Jr. and Zane Guiste; cousins, Donna F. Tucker (Ernest), Willie F. Brooks, Jr. (Linda), Melissa Clemons, Alma S. Brooks, Sylvia Jackson, LaShonda Tucker, ShaRhonda Tucker, Jennifer Mairel, Clinton Mairel (Tomeeka), Curtis Mairel (Angel) and Rochester Butler; other relatives and special friends, Tabatha Vickers, Valerie Bethel-Hills (Corey), Joeann Vickers (James Earl), Minnie M. Thomas, Otto Miller, Sr., Eloise Tinsley, Yvonne Lynch, Gwendolyn Arnold (Samuel), Shelia Soarrey (Greg), Louise Jones and family; a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to, Pastor Webb and First lady Webb, our church family, and our extended family Bartow Center for taking care good of our loved one. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 30th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
