James, affectionally called by his middle name, "Curtis" was born on November 20, 1951, in Tampa, FL., to James C. Mond Sr., and Marjorie Mond.

He was known by many in Belmont Heights, and the surrounding areas, as a person who enjoyed life to the fullest. He attended Hillsborough County Public Schools, where he achieved many high academic honors, such as top of his graduating class at George S. Middleton Senior High School. He was a man that tried many adventures and did things his way, no matter the situation.

He loved to cook and always shared his food creations with the residents at the JL Young apartment community. His favorite music was jazz and Mrs. Patti LaBelle. As a young man he accepted Jesus Christ into his heart and reaffirmed his faith in Christ with everyone.

He leaves precious memories with his daughters, Kischa A. Mond and Janelle C. Mond; grandchildren, Breseanna, Jathan, and Brian; great-grandchildren; Keyshawn, Isaiah, and Kaileena; brothers, Ronald Mond (Mathilda), and Michael Williams (Angela); sisters, Sabrina Larry (Marvin) and LaSharon Matthews (Michael); and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
