Obituary

Homegoing services for Mr. James "Jimmy" Perry, Jr. of Tampa, who passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013, will be held on Saturday, June 22nd, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., with Apostle Thomas Hadden, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. James Perry, Jr. was born on May 19, 1919 in Winston, NC. He was a member of People for Christ Ministries. He accepted Christ at an early age. James was a sponge diver in Tarpon Springs, FL for years, after moving to Tampa he worked for City of Tampa. He enjoyed beating spoons to the sound of music. He was full of life and energy. He loved talking and telling jokes, laughter filled his heart. Also he helped people anyway he could. He was a loving husband, father, uncle and brother-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bubba Perry and Sarah Brown; daughter, Sarah Perry; son, Jimmy Lee Perry and grandson, Donald. He leaves to cherish his memories with his loving wife, Mildred Perry; children, Rene Williams (Howard), Thelma C. Perry of Tarpon Springs, Fl, Carol Kirk (Calvin), Fayetteville, NC , Delores Boykins (Clifford), Kathy Smallwood (Terry) Douglasville, GA, Barbara Green, Lawrence Green (Daisy), Arthur Green (Lena), Cornelious Green, Michael Green (Kendra), Jarvis Green and Arnold Vance; grandchildren, Randall, Wanda, Renae Burney of Tarpon Springs, FL, April Green, Ronald Blount, Jr., Jaye Smallwood, Marlow Favors, Howard Jr., Dominque and Devonte' Williams, Clifford Boykins, Jr., Terrell Soloman, Alice, Aronica and Evleyn Green, Charles Session, Lorraine Comer, Arthur Green III, Kurt, Owen and Kareem Young, Cornelious Jr, Cornelious III, Tasha and Shannon Green, Katina and Lindi Green, Tasha, Jamar and Michael Green, Jr., Porsha, Miguel and Jayden Green; host of great grands; great great grands and 3 great great grands; brother-in-law, Lonnie Williams (Frances); sisters-in-law, Eleanor McGuire and Lucinda Mosley; nieces, Marion (Bobby) and Benita Joyce Kelly; nephew, Rodney Williams (Rhonda); a host of helpful friends from 29th and 38th street, Karl, Jimmy, Alex, Raleigh, Freddy Boy and Mr. AC, Tarpon Springs, FL, Alessi Bakery, Dixie Auto, Square Deal Battery (Larry), Larmons, Badcock and Aliana Meat Market; and a host of other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held on Friday, June 21st, from 5-8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
