A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. James "Jimmy" Bernard Redd, Sr., who passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, will be held on Saturday, November 6th, 10:00 a.m., at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Tampa, FL, Pastor Steve Griffin, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

James was born on November 19, 1948, in Welch, WV, to William Redd and Clara Mae Redd. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. His hobbies were playing pool, going to the dog track, watching sports, and playing basketball. James was preceded in death by his parents, William and Clara Mae Redd; brother, William "Billy" Redd; and niece, Eureka Tucker. He leaves cherished memories with his wife, Yyony Redd; sons, James "JJ" Redd, Jr., Jairus "Marcus" Redd, and Jacob Redd; grandchildren, Markise "Jaytwan" Redd, Jazyhun "King" Redd, Paris Redd, and Javion Redd; sisters, Monitta Williams (Nathaniel), and Kimberly Williams; uncle, Jackie Frederick; brothers-in-love, Elmore Sims and Tony Smith; sisters-in-love, Gloria Sims (Duke), Kasony Sims, Qquony Davis (Karl); nieces, Jocelyn Redd, Keaira Williams; nephews, Kendrick Knighten, Nathaniel Williams, Jr., Taylor Williams, Nicholas, David Redd, Edward Redd; cousin who was like a brother, Tommy Thompson; best friend, Curtis Howard; a host of cousins all over the country, The Pool Hall Crew, and The Birthday Group.

The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 5th, from 4:00 to 8:00. The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday, for the service. We are following CDC guidelines.
