Homegoing Celebration for Mr. James Bryant Stennis of Tampa who passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, will be held Saturday, March 16th, 10:30 a.m., Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. M.L. King, Jr. Blvd., with Rev. Clarence Nathan, officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. James Bryant Stennis was born July 30, 1933 to Mr. and Mrs. William Stennis of Philadelphia, Mississippi, who preceded him in death. He moved to Tampa, Florida, where he was employed with Cone Brothers then Ajax Phosphate Company for over 35 years, where he remained until retirement. He was married to the late Annie Grace Stennis and they were parents to one daughter, Janet Davenport. He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Janet Stennis Davenport (Carter) and Dennie Stennis Bethune (Duke); step-daughter, Gail Robinson Hosey; son, Craig Stennis; 2 step-sons, Eric Patterson, Sr. and Kevin Garner (Gloria); 4 sisters, Ollie B. Williams, Asileen Brown of Jackson, Mississippi, Mattie L. Mann of Ohio, Inez Crutch of Memphis and Christine Earnest of California; 2 brothers, Johnnie Frank Stennis (Delores) and Rodney Stennis (Linda) of Memphis; grandchildren, Carter E. Davenport, Jr., Victoria Davenport, Cedric Robinson, Paulmecia Robinson, Kenya Robinson and other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sorrowing other family members and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 15th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel for the service on Saturday.
