Janet Elaine Sims was born on December 29, 1958, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Her favorite activities included shopping, going to the casino, talking with family and friends, and donating to church organizations. Janet spent most of her days and nights speaking with her loved ones due to everyone being spread out amongst the country. Janets laugh was heavy and heartfelt.

She leaves precious memories with her parents, Raymond Bowman, and Johnnie Mae Harris; her guardians, Robert and Anna Lee Griffin; her son, George Sims, Jr., (Sharnee); granddaughter, Sage Sims; brothers, Alex, Lee, and Willie Bowman; sisters, Theresa, Elizabeth Ann, and Roseanne Bowman; cousin, Chante Hunter; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Janets heart was so big she gave without the intent to receive. Janet loved unconditionally. She was a true woman of God, and may God continue to bless her, her family, and friends.
