Janis was born April 27, 1954, in St. Thomas, US Virgin Island to the late James Weston and Fernella Samuel Weston. Janis was always eager to learn and expand her talents in her early years. One of her talents was an advocate dressmaker in ST Thomas VI for Carnival and in the States. She would make clothes for her family and close friends, especially her niece (Kailla). She learned how to cook at a very young age and that opened her eyes and skills to pursue a certification in Culinary. She had an exceptional talent as a Computer Technician. She would later peruse her CDL and drive trucks in Florida. Other talents included receiving a total of 5 certificates in fashion Design, CDL, Culinary, CNA, and Computer Service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Jose' James; husband, Julius Daniels; 2 daughters, Grace Serpahin and Aldith Danique Seraphin, former spouse, Octave Seraphin, Sr; sister, Connie Estrill Jamison; brothers, Eugene Weston and Ralston Edwards; nephews, Andrease Lorenzo Estrill, Dennis Edwards, and Gilmore Estrill, Jr. (Estefany).
