Homegoing services for Mrs. Jannie Mae Shepherd of Tampa, who passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012, will be held Saturday, July 28th, 11:00 am Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church, 2002 N. Rome Avenue, Tampa, FL 33607, Dr. C.T. Kirkland, pastor officiating, with Rev. Lewis Shepherd, eulogist. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery, Tampa FL. Jannie Mae Shepherd was born August 5, 1929 in Eufaula, Alabama. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and teasing family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, James Snipes; mother, Ruth "Sister" McClendon; son, Willie James and daughter, Georgia Lee. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with her husband, Willie Fred Shepherd; children, Ruby Harrington and husband, Melvin, Lewis Shepherd and wife, Sonja and Bennie Shepherd; grandchildren, Arthur Shepherd and wife, Nicole, Melissa Harrington of Ft. Meade, MD, Victor Harrington, Shawanna Harrington, Lewis Germaine Shepherd, Samara Shepherd, Kevin Shepherd, Samal Shepherd, Kameron Shepherd, Montreal Shepherd, Kelis Shepherd and Jeremiah Shepherd; great grandchildren, Markesha Harrington, Arthur "AJ" Shepherd, Jordan Shepherd and Taylor Shepherd; brother, Lewis McClendon, Chicago, IL; and a host other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 27th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. for the service.
