Jasper was born December 27, 1942, in Montego Bay, Jamaica to the late Walter McFarlane and Matilda Williams-Reid. He left Jamaica around 1973 for a better opportunity and landed in Tampa, FL. He retired from the City of Tampa after over 20 years of employment. On February 25th, God called Jasper, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather home at the age of 79 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Devon McFarlane; and daughter, Angeline McFarlane; two brothers of Montego Bay, JA, Elan McFarlane and Noel McFarlane; two sisters of Montego Bay, JA, Peggy McFarlane-Earl and Louise Reid. He leaves to cherish his memory with wife, Sylvia McFarlane; children, Andrea McFarlane of Montego Bay, JA, Diane McFarlane of Loganville, GA, and Quaneshala (Adrian) Johnson of Arlington, TX; grandsons, Emmanuel Jackson, Nickoy Crosse, Daniel Ware, Keevis Jackson, Woodford Crosse, Tyresse Crosse, AJ Johnson, and Aiden Johnson; granddaughters, Deven McFarlane, Sashagay McFarlane, Dyanna McFarlane, Karnesia Williams and Tesha Williams; great-grandchildren, Daesha Williams and Jacai McClendon; brothers, Maxie McFarlane of Tampa, FL, Melvin Reid of Miami, FL, Polish McFarlane of Montego Bay, JA and Tony McFarlane of Tampa, FL; sisters, Evadne McDonald of Miami, FL, Lilly Minto of Toronto, CA, Merdella Reid of Montego Bay, JA, Hyacinth Reid-Brooks of England, Pearline Reid-Edwards of Fort Lauderdale, FL; stepchildren, Mardell (Erica) Oliver and William Johnson; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends. "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Revelation 21:4.
