Homegoing celebration for Mr. Jeff Shields, Jr. of Tampa, who passed away, Thursday, October 1, 2015 will be held Saturday, October 10th, 2:00 p.m. at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 2511 E. Columbus Drive, Rev. Larry Roundtree II, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Jeff was a member of New Mt. Zion M.B. Church. He enjoyed fishing and cooking in his pastime. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff Shields, Sr. and Althia M. Shields; brother, Samuel A. Shields and son, Byron E. Ross, Sr. He leaves to cherish his loving memories with his wife, Mavene Shields; daughter, Sandra Fuller; brothers, Alvin Shields (Ida), Grand Rapids, MI and Wendell Shields of Rison, AK; 3 sisters, Zonia M. Leggett of Grand Rapids, MI, Fermia Mitchell of Rison, AK and Sherry Shannon (Leon) of Pine Bluff, AK; 3 grandchildren, Juwana Fuller, Desiree Ross and Byron E. Ross, Jr.; aunt, Ferdia Dixon; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; brothers-in law, William Freeman (Mary) and Joe Turner (Patricia) and sister-in-law, Johnnie Mae Calloway. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, October 9th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
