Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Jeffery Lee McIntyre "Pop" of Tampa who passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015, will be held Saturday, March 14th, 4:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Min. Johnnie Lee Taylor, officiating. The interment will be in Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida. Jeffery was affectionately known as "Pop" was born to the late Jerome McIntyre and Rosa Lee Nelson McIntyre Banks. "Pop" graduated from Leon C. King High School after graduation he joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He worked for Gardenier Chemical Plant. Pop later moved to Gainesville, Florida. He was an entrepreneur. Pop moved back to Tampa, Florida after becoming ill. He loved watching movies and enjoyed a good cup of coffee every morning while reading the daily news. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Georgia Smith, Willie Nelson, Ollie Mae Madison and Robert Easter Perry. Shortly after his passing Jeffery's brother, Jerome McIntyre, Jr., passed away on March 9, 2015. He leaves to cherish his memories with devoted and loving sisters, Ann McIntyre, Wilson, NC, Carla Banks (Clarence), Valrico, FL., Judy Taylor, Waldo, FL., and Daisy Kendrick, Tampa, FL.; aunts, Willie Mae Benton, Margaret Smith, Daisy Stewart, Barbara Forbes, Tarpon Springs, FL., Shirley Valdez, Fayetteville, NC and Dorothy Modest (Derrick), St. Pete, FL.; uncles, Robert Lee King, Gainesville, FL., Willie Lee King, Washington, DC, and Charles Smith, Alachua, FL.; special nieces, Tarnecia Cleckley (Anthony) and Ayanna McIntyre and nieces, Beverly Taylor, Jennifer Eden (Roy), Ashley Windham and Kadeisha Crewe; special nephews, Johnnie Taylor, Jr. (Esascha) and Paul Leslie, Jr. and nephews, Roman McIntyre and Jeremiah McIntyre; 16 great nieces and nephews; special cousins, Rilla Bell and Patricia Powell; special friend, Brenda McCray; friends, the Taylor family; and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 13th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel for the service on Saturday.
