A Private Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Jerald 'Cartooley' Leonard Nelson of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Gerard Moreland, officiating. Interment will follow inRest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jerald Leonard Nelson, Sr. was born May 28, 1947 in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended Mt. Salem Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Jerald enjoyed antique trucks, restoring old cars and was an electronic genius. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.L. and Rosa Lee Nelson; brother, Anthony Nelson and Venda Rose Nelson.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving wife, Jennifer Conway Nelson; children, Jerald L. Nelson, Jr. and Chauncey C. Nelson; grandchildren, Anquette D. Nelson, Jacob Benjamin, Chaneese Nelson, Jada Benjamin, Jerald Nelson III, Jordan Wilder; aunts, Dorise Jackson, Evelyn Wynn, Shirley Kohn and Juanita Rogers; uncles, Eddie Rogers and Clarence 'Luke' Nelson, Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives that will miss him. There will be no viewing orrepast, closed casket.
