A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Jessie Thomas, Jr. of Plant City, Florida who passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019 will be held Saturday, December 7th, 12:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Rev. Dr. Shafter Scott, pastor, of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. The interment will be held in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Jessie Thomas, Jr. was born July 15, 1933 in Eutaw, Alabama to the late Louis, Sr. and Mary Thomas. He was veteran for United States Army. He attended St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church. Jessie was a very good diesel mechanic, enjoyed fixing, building things along with cooking He was known as 'Mr. Fix It'. He was once the owner of Thomas Truck Service & Repair, House of Sandwiches and other Businesses that was in Tampa. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terrence Thomas, Sr.; sisters, Frankie Thomas Owens, Frances and Mary J. Thomas and Mary Thomas Cohen; brothers, Wyatt, Sr. and Louis Thomas, Jr. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving wife of 47 years, Emma Thomas; children, Tena Thomas, Thalia Sherrill (Andre), Ronald L. Sims, Sr. and Jeramy N. Thomas (Meka); daughter in law Sandra Thomas; grandchildren, Terrance Thomas, Jr., Tasha Thomas (Letitia), Javen Johnson, Shondrea Thomas (Margia), Shannon McKnight (Favian), Shana Colleton (Michael), Eddie Thomas, Travis Wise (Tina), Wesley Wise, Ronnisha Brown, Ronald Sims, Jr, Mary Brown, Rondeisha Sims, Raniyah Sims, Ronnelle Sims, Jammie Thomas, Jermisha Thomas, Jae Thomas, Phoenix Thomas; great-grandchildren, Tatiana Gaines, Trinity Thomas, Penelope Thomas, Lenox Thomas; brothers, Charlie Thomas (Elaine), Johnnie Thomas (Augusta), Leslie Thomas (Precious) and Wilson Thomas (Edith); sisters, Girt Lee Thomas and Daisy Barton; nieces, Veda Thomas, Jennifer Thomas; nephews, Herman, Nathaniel Thomas, Gerald Thomas, Marcello Lett (Mary); a host of other grandchildren, family members and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, December 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
