Jewel Dean Reed was born on March 20, 1951, in Camilla, GA to the late Norman and Edna Reed. Jewel retired from Hillsborough County Schools. Jewel was an active member in her church community, and enjoyed traveling, family, and hosting gatherings with all her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by companion, O'Neal Edgar; son, Anthony Reed; and brothers, Richard Florence, Norman Jr., Cornel, Artie C., and Jimmy Reed.

She leaves loving memories to; daughters, Yetta Edgar (Chris) and Ayona; son, Demonteria Edgar (Aurora); sisters, Annette, Katie Reed, Hattie Cross (Frank), and Tricia Poinsette; brother, Waymond Reed (Sandra), sisters-in- law, Gladys Florence and Sincerely Reed; grandchildren, Chiquita Reed, Labron Troupe, Keiayna Edgar, Antwan Williams, Damarius Edgar, Darien Edgar, and Dayvien Edgar, Cashtian Edgar, Kalisiter Vincent, and special grandson and caregiver, Anthony Edgar; great-grandchildren, Alani, Amare, U'rayh, Kishaunna, Kiannin, De'asia Edgar; a host of nieces and nephews.
