A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Jimmie Mae Davis Burgess of Tampa who passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, 2:30 p.m. at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 2511 E. Columbus Drive, Pastor Larry Roundtree II, officiating. The interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Jimmie Mae was born on August 29, 1933 to the late Moses Holloway and Jimmie Lou Massey in Columbus, Georgia. She was a dedicated and faithful member of New Mt. Zion M.B. Church for over 25 years. Jimmie Mae enjoyed singing in the choir, working at the church, watching her favorite T.V. soap opras and cooking. She was preceded in death by her father, Moses Holloway; mother, Jimmie Loue Odgood; step-father, Enmon Osgood; nephews, Donald Osborne and Darrell Key; niece, Jasmine Key and sister, Ella Mae Hardaway. She leaves to cherish her memories with her brother, Calvin P. Hardaway; sisters, Betty Osborne Key; nieces, Quistan Keys, Yentele Key, QuaCaraya Smith, Desiree Key, Deasia Jerngan, Kwishia Hardaway, Zabrien Hardaway, Zaequan Hardaway, and Briana Hardaway; nephews, Kelsie Key, Desmond Key, Zabrian Hardaway, Antwan Hardaway, Jessie Key, Jr of Clermont, FL, Napolean Laws of Atlanta, GA, Aaron and Zamarija Hardaway; cousins, Barbara River, Willie Tolbert, Charlotte Davis, Wendy and Chanila Davis, Nettie Scott, Dr. Moses Jones of Eufala, AL, Alphonso Tolbert, Wilfred Davis of Eufala,AL, Ariel Key, Aiden Key and Nevaeh Key; special friends, Riley Mitchell and Linda Mitchell; goddaughter, Annette her church family and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held on Friday, February 2nd at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
