Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Joann Bradford Carter of Tampa, who passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, will be held on Saturday, June 25th, 2:00 p.m. at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, 2101 Lowe Street, Dr. David W. Green, Sr., pastor officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Joann was born on November 4, 1936 in Tampa, Florida. She was a member of Allen Temple AME Church and was a member of the usher board for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. Joann was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Carter; mother, Annie Lee Bradford; father, Joseph 'Wilford' Bradford; sister, Mary Bradford-Williams; brother, Wilford Bradford, Sr.; sister-in-law, Annie Lou Carter-Smith and brother-in-law, Ernest Carter. She leaves to cherish her memories with her daughter, Annie L. Carter Shaw; grandchildren, Meshika Edwards -Townes and Naguai Edwards; great grandchildren, Jontae Jenkins and TyRe-Onna Williams; great-great grandchild, Tyrin Cherry, Jr; other relatives and special friends; a special and loving nephew, Wilford Bradford, Jr.; a special friend, Rev. Evelyn Moore, The Allen Temple AME church family and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 24th, from 5-8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at church on Saturday for the service.
