Mr. Joe Crosby, of 8700 N. 50th St. Apt. 1001, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009. He was born April 27, 1932, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late David Crosby and Susan Coleman. After obtaining his high school diploma, Mr. Crosby enlisted in the United States Army, where he received an honorable discharge. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Gloria Jean Crosby; children, Billie Ann McKissick of Spartanburg, SC, Linda Crosby, Deeda Crosby, Laddie Crosby, Ray C. Crosby of New York, Michael and wife, Charlotte, Lisa Hale and Sonjia Walker, both of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Brandi McKissick Wynn of Spartanburg, SC and 10 other loving grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Lawrence of Washington, DC; brothers-in-law, Freddie Monroe, Willie G. Monroe and wife, Verneine and Edward Green, all of Tampa, FL; sisters-in-law, Annie Mae Shaw, Vena Bell Hammond and Margaret Ann Jones, all of Tampa, and Barbara Crosby of Brooklyn, NY; nieces, Michelle Crosby and Sharon Crosby, both of Brooklyn, NY and Joyce Crosby; cousins, Mary W. Love, John Love and wife, Harriett, Mannie Love and wife, Toni and Hattie Jones, all of Spartanburg, SC; godchildren, Francine Williams and family, David McGee, Randal C. Milliner and Kareem McGee; grand-dog and best friend, Goldie Walker; friends, Nadine Rogers, Leonard Rogers, Harold Jackson, Berna Roberts, Juanita Dennard, Rosa Jordan, Jerry Moore, Raydell Maddix, Bertie Gurrie, Ambrose Simpson and family and Homer Lewis; and a host of other loving and sorrowing, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home Friday, June 19th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Interment will be held in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida, Monday, June 22nd at 11:00 a.m.
